REP League Overview


 

Goal

The goal of our rep teams is to provide advanced training and competition to players who are serious about developing their skills to a higher level. Our rep teams compete in the Central Ontario Baseball Association (COBA) Tier 1 division. Typical expectations for rep level players include:

  • 2x/week winter training starting in January
  • 2x/week games with travel starting in May
  • 2x/week practices
  • 4+ tournaments
  • Provincial AA/AAA championships (pending qualification)

Tryouts/Registration

Tryouts are held shortly after the Labour Day weekend. Team tryout schedules and contact information will be posted as a news item at the end of August.

Elite, Rep and Select players who are offered a position may register immediately on-line via the Majors website. The Majors typically offer teams in the following divisions/age groups based on the player's age as of January 1st of the playing season.

  • Rookie Ball   8/9 year olds
  • Mosquito   10/11 year olds
  • Peewee     12/13 year olds
  • Bantam      14/15 year olds
  • Midget        16-18 year olds
  • Junior         19-21 year olds

Uniforms

Our uniform fitting day is typically held in November. The schedule will be posted on the Events Calendar. Uniforms are provided to the teams in late April prior to the start of the season.

Training/Competition

Coaches determine their own pre-season and regular season practice schedule. COBA typically releases their league schedule in late April. Schedules, standings and rules governing league play will be posted on the COBA website. The OBA posts schedules and rules for OBA sanctioned tournaments and provincial championships on the OBA website.
